Grand Canal Twilight – Amsterdam, Netherlands
What you see in this photo: twilight on a cool summer evening, over some of the many tranquil canals of Amsterdam.
What you don’t see in this photo: dozens of passing boats and barges full of drunken party-goers, the odd waft of cannabis, and the sound of bicycle bells alerting oblivious tourists!
But that’s Amsterdam! A beautiful and easily accessible city, photogenic down every canal and around every corner. But it’s also a living, bustling place, and one of Europe’s most visited, with more than 4.5 million tourists dropping by every year. The quirky liveliness is part of the uniqueness and allure for sure!
I had fun exploring Amsterdam by bike and foot over a few days, and this was one of the views I found during my explorations. Enjoy!
